Fall is HERE!!

This weekend we are taking Gracie to a pumpkin patch in Gainesville. I love to do crafts with her, like we are in school here at home. I searched and found a great site that has cute little Pumpkin poems and craft projects.... Today we are going to make a pumpkin patch out of her fingerprints...

She is sooo much fun and loves anything crafty and MESSY!! lol

Here a cute pumpkin poem to get you into the Fall spirit!! Visit a pumpkin patch this month and tell your kids this story when your carving it:)

P.S. Pictures from the patch to come.... Of course, right?!?!

Gracie Last year. Halloween 2009

From the Pumpkin..

They chose me from my brothers,
"That's the nicest one!" they said.
And they carved me out a face,
And put a candle in my head.
Then they set me on the doorstep,
Oh, the night was dark and wild.
When they lit the candle,
Then I smiled!

Happy Fall Ya'll,

The Handwriting on the Wall...

A weary mother returned from the store,
Lugging groceries through the kitchen door.
Awaiting her arrival was her eight-year-old son
Eager to relate what his younger brother had done.

"While I was out playing and Dad was on a call
T.J. took his crayons and wrote on the wall!
It's on the new paper you just hung in the den.
I told him you'd be mad at having to do it again."
She let out a moan and furrowed her brow.
"Where is your little brother right now?"

She emptied her arms and with a purposeful stride,
She marched to his closet where he had gone to hide.

She called his full name as she entered his room.

He trembled with fear -- he knew that meant doom!

For the next ten minutes, she ranted and raved

About the expensive wallpaper and how she had saved.

Stressed over all the work it would take to repair,

She condemned his actions and total lack of care.

The more she scolded, the madder she got,

Then stomped from his room, totally distraught!

She headed for the den to confirm her fears.

When she saw the wall, her eyes flooded with tears.

The message she read pierced her soul with a dart.

It said, "I love Mommy," surrounded by a heart.

Well, the wallpaper remained, just as she found it,

With an empty picture frame hung to surround it.

A reminder to her, and indeed to all,

Take time to read the handwriting on the wall!!!

I attend a MOPS group (Mothers of Preschoolers) they gave out this poem to all us moms... It really hit home for me to take time before getting onto your kids-listen to what they have to say and in the long run it will all work out.... Gracie has opened my eyes to sooo many things! Because of her I have learned that its okay to not do the dishes and just dance to Mickey's "Hotdog Dance".... To give hugs and kisses all the time, to slow down and smell the roses.. To just be yourself because thats really who you are!

Precious Gracie is a joy, I have added a few pictures from when she got a bubble bath (that girl LOVES bubbles) Plus some more from when we visited the MOSH museum and Geoffrey the Giraffes Birthday party at Toys R Us!!

Enjoy your kids this week, instead of cleaning and doing all these household chores- Read a book to them... Go for a walk, or our favorite: DANCE!!!

Daddy's little Helper

The other night Stephen was putting more child locks on our cabinets and Gracie wanted to help... I got my camera and snapped a few pics!

They have such a special bond:) It makes my heart smile to see how in love Gracie is with her daddy!! When he gets home she runs to the door and says "Daddy" and hugs his legs!! Its the little things like that, that I think sometimes we take for granted!!

Hope your week is blessed!!

Side Note: I thought more about the possibility of going back to work and I feel like right now is the right time... The holidays are coming up and plus I really wanted a Health Department job (part time at first) I will start my hunt in January!!

God Bless,

K

What to do???

I have debating for a long time about going back to work... I said when Gracie was born-oh, I'll wait till she is a year old... Now, she is almost 1 1/2 years and I have the opportunity to go back to work... Many people have different feelings towards this which in turn makes my heart strings get pulled in ALL different directions.. I have questions I ask myself- Will she be okay at a daycare 3 days a week... Will she miss me.... Is it worth it.... In the End I feel some peace about it... I have a interview for the State Corrections in Live oak (Dental Assistant position) on Thursday @ 11am!! It is only 22 minutes away- its not my ideal job because I would be working with inmates BUT its a State job and thats what I most want... They give you benefits-Sick/vaction Leave and one personal day a year PLUS all the Federal Holidays off...

I'm reminded of a verse that the Lord keeps laying on my heart...

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge him,...and he will make your paths straight. ”

Proverbs 3:5-6

Please pray for me on Thursday, pray that I am given wisdom and that this is the right direction for us:)

Until Next Time,

Potty Time....

Gracie lately has been telling me when she goes potty in her diaper.. So today she wanted to sit on her little potty chair and she went Pee-Pee for the first time.... Now, all you parents out there know that this is a BIG deal because once they become potty trained no more changing diapers and no more buying diapers (which are very expensive)... I figured Gracie was old enough because she is just so advanced in everything... She can almost say the whole Alphabet and knows some colors, can count too!!

We are very proud of her!!!

Until Next Time....

Great Picnic + $6.00 Zoo Tickets + BoBo's = A very FUN day!

Today we went to the Jacksonville Zoo!! Gracie had a blast seeing all the animals, one of which is her favorite, BoBo's (Monkeys). Everyday, practically Gracie watches Diego which is Dora's cousin on NickJr (TV show) on the show there are these silly Monkeys that play around and cause trouble and they are called "Bobo's". Today at the zoo when Gracie saw Monkey's she right away said "Bobo's".. So the whole day she was obsessed with Monkeys & the big Gorilla...

Gracie's other favorite is the Splash Pad that they have there... Today was a very HOT day and so the first thing we did when we got into the park was head straight there! She loved playing with the other kids and Daddy stayed close to make sure she wouldn't get hurt! She is such a little fish and climber-she climbed on everything as seen in the pictures below!

We loved the fact that we got Zoo tickets for $6 each because of a site called Groupon.... If you haven't ever checked it out you should because it says you soo much money!! Plus on top of the cheap tickets it included a free train ride! If you sign up for Groupon makes sure you use me as a reference...

All in all today was a great Family day!! I love spending time with my family:) I especially LOVE Gracie's reaction to different animals and things!! She brightens our life!!

Until Next time.....

All Dressed Up with No place to go!

This Morning was very eventful! Gracie loves to get into everything, especially Photo albums and some of our old games that we have on our shelf here in the guest room!
Today one of the games she opened had old Batteries in it and some of the corrosion leaked out and looked like sugar! Well guess what little Miss Gracie did while my back was turned for a second?! She ate some of the corrosion! I called poison control and they said not to worry, that if they were new batteries it would have burned her but since they were old she should be fine just rinse her mouth out and give her something to drink! AHHH that's why I'm going GRAY early!! ha ha!

Well, since she LOVES to get into stuff another favorite is our closet and in there are my shoes! Today she had a little dress up with my heels, her jewelry and a little pink hat... Luckily I hurried and caught it on Camera!
Might be another scrapbook page-who knows?! lol

Have a blessed Week....

Kim
